INZAC 2025 Keynote Speaker Dr. Mohammed Faisal bin Mustafa Arrives in Maldives

Dr. Mohammed Faisal bin Mustafa، the keynote speaker for the upcoming International Zakat Conference (INZAC 2025), has arrived in Maldives. The conference is set to commence on August 23.

Dr. Mustafa serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Kedah State Zakat Board (Lembaga Zakat Negeri Kedah) in Malaysia. An expert in Zakat administration and Islamic social finance, he holds a Bachelor of Sharia and Law from the University of Malaya and a PhD from Universiti Utara Malaysia.

His distinguished career includes board membership of Lembaga Tabung Haji and chairmanship of the Hajj Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Koperasi Permodalan Felda Malaysia Berhad and the Sharia Committee of Waqf Felda. Currently, Dr. Mustafa is a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Ethnic Studies (KITA) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.

Previously, he served as a youth advisory icon at Yayasan Peneraju Pendidikan Bumiputera and as a Research Fellow at Al-Bukhari International University. He is a senior participant of the Aspiring Director Immersion Program (ICDM and Bursa Malaysia, 2022–2023) and a graduate of the Oxford Strategic Leadership Program (2025) at the University of Oxford.

At INZAC 2025, Dr. Mustafa will deliver a keynote address titled “Digital Zakat: Building Transparency through Technology” He will also participate in the conference’s second panel discussion, highlighting case studies from Malaysia, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia.

The panel will explore how financial technology (fintech) can revolutionize modern Zakat management. Discussions will cover the use of smart contracts, artificial intelligence to identify Zakat beneficiaries, and mobile applications to create a more efficient and transparent Zakat ecosystem. The session will also address how technology can enhance trust, ensure Sharia compliance, and extend Zakat’s reach to marginalized communities.
