The Maldives Zakat House will be hosting the 2nd International Zakat Conference (INZAC 2025) on Saturday, 23 August 2025 at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs Conference Hall in Malé.
This year’s theme, “Zakat for Social Justice and Digital Inclusion: Advancing Social Welfare through Innovation,” reflects our commitment to exploring the future of zakat in the digital era and addressing the challenges and opportunities it presents.
At INZAC 2025, we will discuss important topics such as cryptocurrency, offshore wealth, gig economy earnings, and how fintech can strengthen zakat administration. We will also explore how zakat can work hand-in-hand with other Islamic social finance tools, such as waqf and microfinance, to create sustainable solutions for poverty alleviation.
The full-day conference will feature four panel discussions and keynote addresses from distinguished local and international experts in Islamic social finance. We will welcome participants from government bodies, Islamic finance institutions, zakat authorities, Shariah scholars, NGOs, academics, and the media.
Through this conference, we aim to position zakat as a powerful instrument for justice, inclusion, and socio-economic impact — while showcasing the Maldives’ growing role in the global Islamic social finance community.
